Welcome
Grant Tulips is a cornucopia of a few things I love. Here, I explore beauty through design and community development through advocacy. At the intersection of all of these is my desire to center human dignity.
Community Development
After eight years in the community development field, I have observed a common desire among firms to meaningfully incorporate the opinions and wishes of the people we aim to help. At Grant Tulips, we take this a step further, asking the question, how do we- collectively- solve with and not for? This collaborative approach is at the heart of our mission, and we believe it is the key to creating sustainable change.
Grant Tulips leverages a two-pronged approach to creating impact in community development: Social Impact Program Design Consulting and Advocacy through the Places & Spaces Podcast and newsletter.
- Through the Places and Spaces Podcast, I leverage my experience in the community development field by amplifying advocates doing impactful work in the field.
- Through the Places and Spaces Blog, I share musings about society particularly around poverty, gender and race; and super finds in fashion and interior deign.
- Through consulting, I help organizations design social programs and spaces with and for communities emerging from underinvestment and poverty.
At the root of Grant Tulips are Dignity, Equity, and Beauty. These values are interconnected and guide the work I do. I aim for end users to know that their happiness and dignity are the priority in every program, conversation, and design.
